On 22 January, it was announced that Snow Patrol would be playing a special one-off performance at the Apple iTunes Store on Regent Street in London on Friday 13 February, which will then be available in the UK and Rest of the World to download as an exclusive live EP a week later.[2]
Xfm broadcasted the performance in full on 21 February as part of the Xfm Live Hour between 8 pm and 9pm. The live EP showed up on Snow Patrol's iTunes exactly one week after the performance, on 19 February with an official announcement on the band's website on 23 February.[3] The Xfm broadcast was initially available for online streaming, but it was taken down on 1 March.[4]
The EP was not available at the United States iTunes store at the time of release. It saw a release on 10 March.[5] The set was priced at €5.94.[1]
Three songs that were performed did not make the final EP release. These were Chasing Cars, Take Back the City and Set the Fire to the Third Bar.[6]
